Disclosure Cements Comeback with New Tracks 'Ecstasy' and 'Tondo'

Following on from yesterday's release, British electronic duo Disclosure have dropped another new track, 'Tondo', which samples 'Tondoho Mba' by Camaroonian artist Eko Roosevelt.

The pair had already set the bar high with 'Ecstasy', and the infectious, disco-inspired rhythm of "Tondo" clearly follows in its footsteps, leaving us excited to see what's coming next.

“Over the past few years, we have been exploring more and more African genres of music,” the Lawrence brothers said about the song via Twitter. “This specific track samples the great Cameroonian musician Eko Roosevelt. If this track is anything, it’s fast, punchy & above all... fun. Another one designed for the dance floor.

'Ecstasy' First Official Track Since 2016

On Tuesday we were gifted with 'Ecstasy', whose nostalgic garage beat harks back to the old Disclosure we know and love. Whilst the pair have recently worked with Khalid on his song 'Know Your Worth', 'Ecstasy' remains their first official release since their 'Moog For Love' EP released in 2016.

"This song came into existence early 2019 during a writing session at Guy's house in London," Disclosure said in a statement. "We were curiously chopping up samples from various '70s disco and soul records when, suddenly, "Fantasy" by Aquarium Dream gave us the exact thing we were searching for. This song is made entirely to get a human being to their feet and directly to the dance floor."

Disclosure's 2020 Comeback

Last year, Disclosure told Australian radio station Triple J that they had new music in the pipeline, saying that they'd written over 100 songs in preparation for their next album—release date still unknown. In 2017, the duo announced a hiatus so that they could take some "much needed rest", but ended this on Monday with their brand-new ‘Kitchen Mix’.

"We've been working on this music for like two years now and we're getting to a point where we are almost happy... We've been at that 'almost' stage for a while now," Howard said to Triple J. "We're just going to keep cracking on and hopefully we'll have some music out next year."
