Last week, the UK's biggest festival was full of news-worthy highlights: Miley Cyrus surprised fans by performing as her Black Mirror character Ashley O and also brought out her dad and Lil Nas X for a rendition of "Old Town Road". During his unforgettable headlining slot on the Friday, Stormzy donned a stab-proof jacket designed by Banksy and was later joined onstage by Chris Martin. Even national treasure David Attenborough made an appearance over the weekend!

However, one of the most talked about moments of the festival was when "Funky Friday" rapper Dave selected a fan at random to join in with "Thiago Silva"- his collaboration with AJ Tracey.

At just 15 years old, Alex Mann didn't miss a single word, belting the lyrics out with such confidence that viewers later accused the duet of being a fix. Alex hit back, telling The Guardian “It was 100%. Completely just happened…I have only ever seen him once before at a show in Bristol.”

The video rapidly went viral, with the young fan's twitter follower count soaring to over 98,000 overnight- even Thiago Silva himself showed his support, tweeting "Thanks Alex!".

When asked later about the experience and the aftermath, Alex responded by saying “He [Dave] was supportive and said that I would get a lot of messages today and if I needed anything to let him know. He said if it got overwhelming he would be there,”

“When I was on stage, he looked at me and said that if I got stuck and didn’t know the lyrics I could look him in the eyes and he would help.”

Glastonbury is Britain's largest and most talked about festival, each year drawing in crowds of 200,000 and showcasing some truly iconic moments. In 2019, the event was headlined by Stormzy, The Killers and The Cure, with other performances by Tame Impala, The Chemical Brothers, Janelle Monáe, Kylie Minogue and more taking place across 79 different stages.
