Out now on CONECTD, a new imprint with a motif of the Modern SilkRoad
In succession to the hit collaboration track Pass Out, Latin Grammy Award Winning producer Nitti Gritti and Asia’s prime DJ/Producer Kaku reunite once more for their 2nd project, this time with sogumm, the most sought-after female vocalist in the Korean urban/hip hop scene, and Jason Lee, the one and only Saxophonist in the Korean urban/hip hop/retro scene.
The soulful and fresh R&B single Selfish emcompasses the unique personalities of each of the talented collaborators. Through working with artists such as Bad Bunny, Pitbull, Diplo, Enrique Iglesias, and Gaeko, Nitti Gritti has demonstrated his talents and has earned profound respect as a DJ/Producer within the global music industry. From Taiwan to LA to Tokyo, Kaku amassed a global experience that has allowed him to share his skills with the world-wide audience. Nitti Gritti and Kaku collaborate with sogumm who has recently won the New Artist Of The Year Award by Korean Music Awards 2020 as well as being nominated for the Best R&B and Soul Track; both sogumm and Jason Lee are managed by the superstar Jay Park, getting an immense support from artists and fans in both commercial and underground music scene in Korea.
While the song illustrates the theme of a girl who acknowledges her selfishness in wanting someone to stay by her side until she is ready to like and trust the other back, it begins with refreshing and alluring beats that lead to sogumm’s smooth, soulful verse and Jason Lee’s melodious saxophone. The single elicits an enchanting and mesmerizing feel as the sultry sound of the saxophone intertwines with sogumm’s mellow yet raspy voice. The single highlights the saxophone solo that fully exhibits Jason Lee’s flair that adds a freshness to the track. The magical coming together of the four artists creates an addictive lure that entices the listeners to play the song on repeat.
